The Afriki

This animal is very rare and is barely ever seen. Read on and find out more if you dare!

Appearance
I call this animal the Afriki. He has long, spindly fingers that are good for climbing trees. Their fur is also really spiky like metal. Believe it or not this creature’s fur changes colour to match the colour of the food they eat, kind of like a chameleon. Their eyes are like black beady marbles that glow in the dark and can see over 100km away. The Afriki’s ears are really big, about the size of a shoe and are great for hearing.

Habitat
The Afriki’s habitat includes the depths of the Jamaican jungle or on the sandy shores of Miami. There they dig little burrows in the sand until they reach the watery bottom where they collect their supplies like water and fish for the winter.

Food
The Afriki’s diet includes lots of disgusting things, but let’s start off with the more simple foods they eat. They like rat’s guts with minted leaves mixed together and salmon with seaweed. Don’t get me started on the other things.

Life cycle
The life cycle of the Afriki is very odd so only read on if you have the guts to! For the eggs to grow to a standard height and weight the Mum has to go and collect ghost leaves and cow dung. Once she’s gathered all the things she needs she then mushes them together to make a brown coloured case to put the eggs in. The mother then sheds her fur to keep the chrysalis protected from predators In other words, she keeps them camouflaged.

Predators
The Afriki’s predators come from a long line of family like apes, monkeys and elephants but the most feared of all is the ‘Mr Lawress’. He has a really dry sense of humour and says things a bit funny, like ‘penguan’. The Afriki’s other predator is a creature called the Bolvorexis. Bolvorexis’ attack with their razor sharp teeth and are about the size of a pencil case. The Afriki defends himself with his sharp, spiky fur.

I hope this has told you a lot about the Afriki’s world and never touch the chrysalis of the Afriki.
