The city of ember

Throughout this term we have been reading a book called the city of ember and we just watched the movie today on the 18/19 of September it was such a good movie because it caught you're attention easily. But the only thing that i didn't like about it was that the teacher kept pausing every 5 to 10 min just to write something down in our books so it took us two days to finish it. But in some bits it looked a bit un realistic like when they were going down the river in the boat/locker. But overall it was a really exciting to watch. :)   

Lakes High visit

Yesterday on the 11th of September all the year 8's from our school went and visited Lakes High School. We had lots of fun we went to alot of different rotations like art. Art was just basically tracing on a piece of plastic and melting it onto paper i gave it a 8/10. Cooking was the best because we got to make our very own chocolate molds by melting plastic. In science we played with dry ice and dissected body parts of the deer. Maths was like an amazing race maths style we had to collect lots of puzzle pieces to win. Languages was like a fisita we had to speak French and Spanish like bonjour and salut! But my favourite was playing this game called pirates in the gym. It is a game that's basically like line tag but there is alot of obstacles like trampolines and ropes that you have to go over and through. Over all we all had alot of fun and it has made me think more about what i want to do next year becoming a year 9 our leaders were very caring their names were Toby and Rebecca. I am very excited for next year so wish me luck :)

Devon Exchange

Yesterday on the 3rd of September Devon intermediate arrived at our school for the exchange between our schools. We all played hard and fair there were alot of people that ended up on crouches. For our girls soccer team we won 1-0 for the 9th year in a row, the boys soccer won 2-1 the rugby lost 68-26 the year 8 A netball team won 34-8 year 8 B netball won 28-12. Year 7 A netball won 28-5 and basketball won 68-26. 

Our speeches

A couple of weeks back our school got involved in speeches. We all came up with our own speeches to any topic we desired. My topic was 'Encouraging Sports'. We had approximately 4 weeks to complete it. Then we presented it infront of the class and then picked whos was the best and they presented it infront of learning centre.

My Holiday

During my holidays I had allot of fun. On the first week I stayed at home with my cousin and we went to the movies and watched monsters university (which is a really good movie). Then on the second week I stayed up at my nana and granddads and the best thing was that my older brother had to work so i was up there all by myself, which was so relaxing. p.s I'm the only granddaughter in my family so i get spoilt like nana and granddads do. I also learnt how to surf  because my nana and granddad live by a beach my holiday has been so fun.

Storm breaker Report

Trailing through the footsteps of his dead uncle Ian’s map Alex rider comes across many obstacles he has to concur including near death situations but he soon finds out not everything is easy. This is just the start of the movie we watched in class.

In this movie there are a lot of good actors but my favorite has to be Alex pettyfyer doing the role of Alex rider because he suits the whole movie put together because he looks like an action packed and adventurous person.

I think that this is one of the best movies that I have watched because I like adventurous and action packed movies and that’s exactly what it was. Once you have watched the very start of this movie it would be really hard to look away.

Personally I think that the movie was more interesting to watch because in the book it didn't describe everything as good as what was on the movie. I would recommend this movie for an audience of kids my age because if a little kid watched this they would get bored.

In the end I think this was a really good movie and I hope you have enjoyed my quick report on the movie vs book.

Introduce the book

This book is for people who like to read adventure stories. It is about a 14 year old school boy who dreamed to follow the tracks of his Uncle Ian rider who had passed away. It is a book where he takes daring to the next level.

Personally I really enjoyed this book because I like adventurous stories but I also like ones with a happy ending  and I know it’s a happy ending because our teacher didn't cry J.

My favorite part was when Alex rider was underneath the earth’s surface walking through the dirty, manky pipes. He walked through the brown water down drain pipes just to follow the map.

I would recommend this book for my age kids because its 

worded for my understanding I wouldn't recommend it a

younger audience.

Mine craft Report

Personally I think mine craft is fun for people who have minds that can imagine for miles but it can get addicting at times.

Addiction

Mine craft is one of those games that some people get addicted to and don’t usually go outside for fun. It can also be something that people really enjoy and it’s their hobby but personally for fun I like to go outside and enjoy the fresh air.

TNT

Mine craft is fun to play and to design houses but people sometimes blow up you’re creations and you get really frustrated that’s exactly what put me off playing it. All the hard work that’s you put in to make you’re design and it’s just wasted so there is no point in the playing it.

Good Points

Sometimes I enjoy mine craft because I have a creative mind and like to imagine and build what my lotto house would look like. I also like the creativity put into the game.

Conclusion

In conclusion I think that mine craft has good and bad points but it wouldn’t be something I would play every day consistently.

2.   then you fold it so that it looks like this:

On Monday the 6th of May our class went to the science lab with our teacher and made our very own lava lamps in a test tube. It was really fun all you need is 3/4 cups of  normal tap water and 1 cup and a halve of oil (pour to the top). and you should see a thin layer between the two ingredients then put about 8 drops of any food colouring you like and a crushed piece of  borroca to make it fizz all the food colouring bubbles up to the top and back down.It was really awesome to try something new like that so i know you should have alot of fun.

The Hatchet

So for the past few weeks we have been reading this book called the hatchet and today we just finished it. It has to be the most interesting book i have ever heard. It is about this boy called Brian Robeson who is flying across to Canada to see his dad but the pilot hade a heart attack and they crashed into the lake. So he had to try and survive in the wild with only a hatchet. A number of events happened to him like porcipines stabbing him he lived there for over a month and one day a person came and saved him. It is more interesting then i have made it sound i hope we get to watch the movie. :)

family food and fun fair

yesterday 4th of april our school had a family food and fun fair were each class has a stall and they set up a game for everyone to come and enjoy the what we hade install for them. Our class did two games one called what the rat and the other called sponge the teaacher. It was a really fun time but it was really croweded my favourite game was one called pin board game were you put washers down this pin board and you get it on a sertain number and you win a handfull of lollies and a drawing book. :)

Yesterday on the 26th of March norm hewitt an ex all black came into our school standing up against animal crultey and to talk with us about some of his stories when he was a young boy and how he became an all black. He also talked about the SPCA and showed us a few photos and videos of animals cute and cruel i personally really enjoyed it and it was really interesting :)
